Why Liquid Glucosamine is the Best

As explained in a prior article, the degenerative effect of your cartilage begins when the synovial fluid runs low and allows the cartilage to start fraying and chipping off into the joint structure.

When that fluid is restored, it halts the breakdown of healthy cartilage and alleviates the pain and suffering. This is what glucosamine helps do--restore the synovia fluid. Most patients, in fact, start to see a difference within few weeks when they begin taking glucosamine.

However, there are many differences between glucosamine products. Most products on the market today contain 1,500 mg of glucosamine but that may not be enough. We strongly suggest you take glucosamine in a liquid form (liquid glucosamine). The advantages of liquid glucosamine include faster absorption, no filler as in pills, quicker relief, and ease of use.

While scientists don’t dispute the beneficial effects glucosamine has on the management of osteoarthritis, they are looking into the various forms of the supplement – which make a huge difference in the speed and magnitude of recovery.

If you’re considering taking glucosamine to maximize joint health, you’ll want to be aware of the critical factors of your choices. Many patients tend to focus on price instead of ingredients or methods of administering the supplement. The following two factors can greatly affect how long it takes to see a difference in your joint health.

Most forms of glucosamine come in a capsule or pill form. They’re convenient, cheap to make and easy to manage, but not as effective as their counterparts, liquid glucosamine. Liquid glucosamine is absorbed quickly and starts working instantly. This greatly increases the opportunity for faster repair and quicker pain relief. Again, injections would work even faster, but not many people have the desire to stick needles directly into an already sore joint day after day and the chance for unintentional injury or infection is an unacceptable risk for almost all of us.

With the liquid form of glucosamine, one can simply drink the product alone or mix it with their favorite beverage. It’s often easier than swallowing a large pill for many people and there are products such as Flexicose that offer a no spill, built in measuring cup for quick and accurate dosing of liquid glucosamine.

The pill form of glucosamine also requires fillers and stabilizers – ingredients you generally don’t need or want in your body. The liquid form, however, is simply a suspension of glucosamine – without fillers and binders. Perhaps paradoxically, it is far easier to put fat soluble supplements such as omega 3 into a liquid than it is to put into a pill.

When a patient takes a liquid form – of any supplement– they can be sure the supplement is entering their system. But when a pill or capsule form is used, there is a good chance that the body will not even have the opportunity to dissolve and absorb the important ingredients it needs. While uncommon, sometimes pills can pass completely through the body, completely unaffected!

By taking a high quality liquid glucosamine product, you will begin to feel better – faster. Often, within 2-3 weeks, your body will have restarted the natural repair process and will be healing and promoting joint health for years to come.
